Advanced Installer is another name I've heard of but I'm hoping to avoid licensing fees if possible.Īre there any free (either official Microsoft MSI tools or third-party utilities) methods that will let me retool the Winpcap installer to install with no user interaction? I've tried installing it through Chocolatey but Wireshark's dumpcap.exe reports that it can't load the Winpcap DLL, so something's not right with the installation.Īlso worth noting is that I'm using Labtech to run these commands remotely as I'm with an MSP and we try to do as much as possible without interfering with user workflow, which is why it's so important to have a silent installation. I've looked at Cameyo but it looks like it's more for virtualization than for local-install repackaging and I'm looking for something that'd let me deploy this locally. So now I'm stuck trying to find a way to reimplement silent installation whether the developers like it or not. I'm trying to push out WinPcap to a couple of endpoints for Wireshark diagnostics but the developers, in their infinite wisdom, decided to remove the silent-install option from the installer file.
